It was 2008 and we were getting inquiries from Australia for Northern Quoll GPS.  We didn’t have anything near small enough for a northern quoll.  So we decided to build it, we called it Q4000.  That product was introduced in September 2008 but it needed more work.

So in February 2009 we debuted the Q4000 Enhanced.  The new version was much smaller and had a longer download range. It was a hit, not just in Australia, but all over the planet.  People were placing orders without having event talked to us first.

Over the years we have made incremental improvements to the 4000E, which is now 4000ER.

Then came the FL, FLR, FLRII and FLR V.  One of those, the FLR I believe, could be built at just 2 grams total weight.

All of those have now been superceded by the Nano, we recently built several 10 gram Nano GPS collars for squirrel glider project.

The Australian Wildlife Conservancy, amoung other organizations, became regular customers.  In 2017 they kept pushing us to make our Iridium GPS at 135 grams so they could put it onto feral cats.  We used our downtime around Christmas and New Year’s to do the work and in 2018 they had success finding out that feral cats can make a beeline across the desert.
