GPS Tide to Tidal Schedule

Our GPS collars are used in a long-term project tracking Island Foxes, with a unique focus on coastal movement in relation to tidal cycles. The collars were programmed to record a GPS position at both high tides and both low tides each day, along with four additional positions spaced between tide events. Because the tide schedule shifts daily and the collars were required to last for a full year, we developed a dynamic GPS schedule that accurately tracked changing tides over time. In addition to precise positioning, the collars included remote activity reporting, our newly enhanced 2025 long-range data transfer system, and an integrated drop-off mechanism for easy retrieval at the end of the deployment.
