Our Swim/Walk function is outfitted with a powerful accelerometer, gyroscope, and adaptive algorithm, and this system is capable of properly recognizing turtle activity, differentiating between swimming and walking activity. User-set parameters dictate the schedule of the GPS based on the output of the algorithm to meaningfully reduce battery life and device weight consumption while accurately keeping nest location data.
