Knowing when a download begins can be handy. The base station info app alarm will play a tune to indicate that a long-range download has begun. 

The screen also changes color to let you know that the long-range download has begun. 

The app lets you know which GPS devices have downloaded data to the base station and how much of the data has been downloaded.  You can use this information to know whether or not you have everything you need from the field that day.

The app provides much more information including the GPS devices’ voltages and the base station voltage.  It is available at no cost for both Android and iOS.
